  • Job Summary

    Our Company, Crawford Land Management, is an eco-contractor focusing on shoreline stabilization and habitat restoration projects.  The Project Manager (PM) is the main point of contact for clients through all project stages of implementation, planting, maintenance, and compliance and is a highly collaborative role throughout the Company. They are responsible for ensuring all aspects of the work meet client expectations, company standards, and adhere to all permit and regulatory requirements.

    The PM will create and maintain all timelines/schedules/requirements for the project. They will maintain eyes on the ground throughout the duration of a typical three-year implementation contract and regularly communicate with Clients about the status of their project, work that has been completed, upcoming work that is being scheduled.

    • Maintain proactive and regular communications with Clients to ensure the Client understands all phases and anticipated timeline of the contracted work.

    • Schedule and complete all pre-construction permit requirements with the appropriate entities and personnel.

    • Coordinate project timeline activities with sub-contractors and/or other project team members

    • Conduct regular site inspections to understand field conditions and anticipate upcoming phases or additional work needed and confirm or update project schedules accordingly.

    • Develop permitting strategies for ‘extra’ or ‘add-on’ work for existing clients and coordinate with design and administrative staff to acquire necessary permissions.

    • Prepare project estimates and contracts for additional work/change orders.

    • May prepare simple regulatory applications or documents.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time, in-person position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00AM- 4:00PM, 40 hours minimum per week. Extended days and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Salary $60,000 - $90,000/commensurate with experience

  • Job Summary

     We are searching for an environmental/landscape designer to join our team. This candidate can be entry-level or experienced. Preference will be given to those with native plant knowledge in the Northeast as well as regulatory permitting experience. 

     

    The Restoration/Landscape Designer prepares accurate working plans and detailed drawings for various types ofprojects (residential, commercial, public, etc.) They may work on both ecological restoration projects as well as traditional landscape architecture projects, depending on Company needs and individual skill set. The majority ofprojects will be focused on designing and documenting restoration or shoreline stabilization plans for project permitting purposes. The Designer’s duties may vary to include supervision of junior staff and other project management responsibilities, based on experience.

     

    • Complete thorough on-site assessments for property elements such as vegetation composition, soils, views, drainage, etc.

    • Analyze and research topics such as plants, soils, regulatory codes and performance standards, etc.

    • Prepare project documents in written, verbal & graphic form such as Land Management Plans, Restoration Plans, Project Narratives, Performance Standards Narratives, Monitoring Reports, Construction Documents, permit applications and other related plans/documents. 

    • Use computer assisted drafting (CAD) and other graphic design software (Adobe programs, SketchUp, Rhino, Microsoft programs, etc.) to complete project documentation.

    • Prepare models/graphics and other presentation materials.

    • Engages in critical discussion of project issues and strategies.

    • Gathers, analyzes, organizes, and files project data in accordance with Company standard.

    • Attends and presents at local conservation commission or other regulatory meetings.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time, in-person position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM- 4:30PM, 40 hours minimum per week. Extended days and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    *Salary is commensurate with experience.

  • Job Summary

    We are searching for an individual that desires full-time, year-round outdoor work to join our implementation team. We encourage individuals of all experience levels to apply. Advancement and education opportunities are available. 

     

    Preference may be given to those with native plant knowledge and/or landscaping experience.

    • Removes approved trees, shrubs, vines and other vegetation from project sites.

    • Mixes and applies herbicides (with an applicator’s license) to approved vegetation.

    • Seed and plant grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees.

    • Operates vehicles and equipment, such as passenger vehicles, brush mowers, chain saws or skid steers.

    • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day.

    • Maintains equipment and tools used.

    • Loads and unloads trucks and hauls materials.

    • Maintains restored sites multiple years after installation through mowing, weeding, pruning, and targeting herbicide applications.

    • Maintains confidentiality and compliance with all safety rules, regulations and standards as well as all CLM policies and procedures.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time, year-round position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00AM with 40 hours per week minimum. Extended days and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Pay Range: $24-$30 per hour commensurate with experience and licensure. 

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

    • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment.

    • Must possess or be able to obtain a MA DOT physical card.

    • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Pesticide Applicator's License from the State of Massachusetts.

    • Must possess or be able to obtain a Massachusetts Hoisting and Hydraulics License.

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
