WHY CLM?
Ecological restoration is at the core of what Crawford Land Management does. Our extensive experience working on ecological restoration projects from initial implementation through long-term management means that we know how to meet regulatory requirements while balancing our clients’ goals.
We have experience establishing native plant communities in a variety of different habitats, as well as conducting management of invasive species that can damage infrastructure, diminish aesthetic value, or restrict biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. We are also able to help our clients complete view management that preserves important vistas while minimizing annual maintenance.
CLM uses soft shoreline stabilization solutions such as fiber rolls, coir envelopes, geo-bags and other biodegradable materials that buffer wave energy and provide a biodegradable medium for plant communities to establish. We also create living shorelines, construct sand drift fences, and supply nourishment to beach and dune ecosystems.
These solutions, working either independently or in conjunction with each other, help preserve the aesthetic appeal of the shoreline while enhancing the ability of coastal ecosystems to protect the land behind them.

A restoration project is only as successful as the ongoing monitoring and maintenance that is invested into it. Crawford Land Management is experienced in every stage of a restoration project and knows what it takes to ensure a project’s success.
Once the initial phase of a restoration project is complete, a site needs to be maintained to ensure that it establishes successfully and is able to sustain in the long-term. We complete maintenance activities while also monitoring and assessing project progress to make sure that it functions properly and meets regulatory requirements.
We work alongside marine engineers to implement bio-engineering stabilization projects, restore salt marsh, install coir and sand-filled envelopes, and construct sturdy drift fence.
