THE ENERGY + PASSION

We take pride in our muddy boots and frayed jackets. We care about the land and spend our days getting down and dirty to protect and restore it.

Crawford Land Management has been completing ecological restoration and shoreline stabilization projects for nearly a decade and our experience has covered a range of project scopes and scales. We’ve restored salt marshes, protected coastal banks, created specialized habitat for endangered species, and so much more. We’ve gotten a number of these projects under our belt and feel confident that we’ve learned what makes a project work, but we always love taking new approaches and expanding our ecological horizon.

We have an awesome team of intelligent, passionate and all-around fun individuals who love doing this work and are dedicated to taking project goals from a concept to a reality.

THE ENERGY

MORE THAN  A SUMMER JOB

Co-founder and principal Nick Crawford is at the root of all things CLM. Nick is a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner through the Society for Ecological Restoration as well as a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. Nick’s certifications, as well as his educational background in forestry and wildlife and his previous positions in the ecological restoration field make him a critical piece of the CLM team. Nick has a strong presence in the field overseeing and implementing our projects alongside our field crews and has experience with every aspect of our work.

Co-founder and CEO Jen Crawford is CLM’s fearless leader. Jen is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Massachusetts and hold a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. Jen’s background in both design and restoration pushes her to execute projects to the highest standard, balancing client goals, pleasing aesthetics and ecological integrity. She’s driven and ambitious, and always excited by a challenge.

CO-FOUNDERS

Angela Tanner assists in designing and permitting residential and commercial projects that balance the outdoor living experience with each site’s ecological potential. Angela holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Bachelor of Architecture from Kent State University, and is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Rhode Island. Angela serves on the Board of Directors for the Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA), a nonprofit organization that educates, inspires, and empowers people to value biodiverse landscapes and employ ecological practices. Her experience in the architectural design world and her genuine excitement for native plants and wildlife make her a unique asset to our team.

Lauren Taylor has been with CLM since 2021 as a landscape/restoration designer. She helps design and permit ecological restoration projects and often gets involved on the implementation end of things, going in the field to assess project development, help implement projects, and watch plans come to life. She’s a tree hugger through and through (and would hug salt marshes too if she could). Lauren volunteers with the Barnstable Land Trust as a Land Steward helping with invasive plant management and pile burns. This spring (2024), Lauren is looking forward to starting as a Baywatcher with the Buzzards Bay Coalition collecting water quality monitoring data, as well as volunteering with the Barnstable Clean Water Coalition helping with monitoring, sampling and maintenance operations.

Sabrina Melchionno is Crawford Land Management’s incredible Chief Operations Officer. Sabrina's role as COO means that she supervises all daily operations of the company including IT, marketing, sales, and growth while working closely with our co-founders and staff. Sabrina's extensive experience in management means that she is our right-hand woman in developing and implementing strategies, procedures, and business plans needed to enhance CLM.

THE TEAM

Randall has been with the CLM family since the start. Randall has years of experience working on ecological restoration projects and now acts as a Senior Project Site Supervisor, helping lead and train our field crews. Randall also has a degree in Graphic Design and Studio Art and is always excited to lend a hand to our design and permitting team. We love working (and goofing off) with Randall.

Derek joined team CLM in 2021 and is a Senior Project Site Supervisor. Derek has over 15 years of experience as a property manager and a business owner specializing in exterior services. Derek brings his incredible skillset to CLM and works hard day-to-day to keep his accounts organized and running smoothly. He gets through the day with laughter and a touch of sarcasm.

Gretchen has been with CLM since 2018 as our Operations Support Administrator. She focuses on scheduling crews, purchasing materials, preparing job packets and making sure we comply with any necessary regulations; essentially she makes sure all our ducks are in a row while we’re working on a job!

Ryan Fleury has been with CLM since 2021 and has worked his way up to his role as a foreman as he’s quickly learned the ropes. Ryan graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in environmental science and has several years of experience in the Boy Scouts of America and volunteering with Mass Audubon and Mass Fish & Wildlife. If you see him and his trademark beard on site, be sure to say hi to Ryan.

Chris Solimini, better known to our team as Sol, started in 2021 and has worked his way up to a foreman role. Sol is exactly the kind of crew member we look for at CLM- he’s hardworking, ready to learn, and reliable (plus he loves the big machines). We’re proud to have him on our team.

Stephanie Haussmann (Steph to us) has been with CLM since 2022 and is an Account Manager. Steph is eager to help our customers stay organized and on track and can be seen regularly at local Industry Tradeshows and Educational events.

When you call Crawford Land Management, our Executive Assistant Kristyn is the first person you’ll talk to. Her professionalism, organization and abilities are profound. She handles office operations like a pro so everyone can stay focused on the job at hand. We’re so grateful to have Kristyn with us!

Landscape Designer Andreana “Andi” Sideris joined CLM in 2023 and brought with her experience completing invasive species management, using GIS mapping technology and consulting with landowners about conservation regulations. At CLM, Andi helps consult with clients on conservation permitting projects, and is learning the ropes of designing restoration plans. Andi is a proud plant nerd and is always game for new challenges on the job.

Currently, Quinn is enrolled in a degree in environmental science at Unity College. We look forward to seeing Quinn grow with the CLM team!
